This is one of the most common questions in the industry – and rightly so!
The daily running costs of a hot tub depend on a number of different factors, including the type of hot tub, your kwh rate, temperature it is run at, external temperature and how often it is used.
Typically, high-quality, energy efficient hot tubs, such as ours, are a lot more affordable than you may think and can cost as little as £7.00 per week. Across the entire Artesian range and at a rate of 34p per kwh our tubs typically cost £1-£3 per day.
Be careful when comparing daily electricity costs. Our estimates are based on keeping the water temperature at 37° Celsius and using the spa for the recommended time, 3 days a week. If we drop the temperature to 20°, turned off various filtration cycles, not utilise the jets or lighting features we could advertise our running costs for very little indeed, but that's just not realistic.
Monthly watercare and general maintenance costs you carry out run between £10-£15.

We are seeing more and more lower quality tubs, especially online, pushing heat pumps with their Hot tubs and even offering them for free. We've seen "deals" online for £3995 for a 30 Jet Hot Tub INCLUDING a heat pump which claims to lower the electricity costs by up to 50%.
First of all when you dealve in to the detail these tubs often cost in excess of £180 per month to run so sure, 50% of this is £90 - fantastic! - not really.
Do yourself a favour and run a quick online search for a quality 6kw [minimium] heat pump, we think you will struggle to find one less than £1000.
Let's go back to our 'fantastic online £3995 hot tub'. Deduct the VAT = £3329.17, deduct cost of the heat pump. Now, factor in dealers margin [not as much as you think! 🤓], shipping costs from manufacturer to dealer, shipping and install costs from the dealer to you and ask yourself, how much did that thing cost to manufacture???
One of our most popular tubs costs £46.23 [average] per month to run without an unsightly heat pump to climb over, not to mention the additional servicing and energy requirements of these units. Our Tubs are compatible with heat pump installation but we believe if you invest in our Hot tub range complete with full foam insulation then it is not necessary and in the long run will cost you more!
If it's too good to be true.... well you know the rest.

The simple answer is, we are not allowed to.

You are investing alot of money in a quality product and we want you to experience that product in our store, in person. We also encourage a wet test prior to purchasing your dream spa and you can't do that online!

Be careful when a hot tub dealer says to you "our control system is balboa or gecko" or "we use USA acrylic" intimating that their spas are built in the USA. Even if the controls are official balboa or gecko, or the acrylic is indeed superior USA acrylic, ask specifically where the hot tub you are interested is built, what about the jets, the pumps, the pipes etc.. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions, if a dealer seems reluctant or gives obscure, indirect answers, well, you have your answer without the answer.
You'd be surprised how few hot tubs and spas are still manufactured in the United States. Do your research, find a reputable manufacturer.

Providing you follow a strict maintenance schedule our filters can last up to One Full Year!
Filter maintenance is pretty simple but extends the lifetime of the filter drastically.
Weekly: Remove filter and rinse with the garden hose. Make sure to rinse between the pleats and simply reinstall back in the Tub.
Monthly: Remove filter, rinse and spray with filter cleaning solution according to instructions. Rinse thoroughly before installing filter back in the Hot tub.
Simples!
Top Tip: Keep on top of your water chemistry and keep your levels balanced. Too high chlorine levels for excessive amounts of time can degrade your filters more quickly, not to mention be extremely irritating to the skin and eyes!
Test strips, chlorine, bromine, ph plus, ph minus, alkalinity plus, alkalinity minus, soft water, hard water, foamy water - ahhhh its too much!

Private Hot Tub test soaks are available in our Garden Room, where you can experience spas across the Artesian range, from Garden Spas to the ultimate in hydrotherapy on any spa, the Island class hot tub.
It may seem strange, coming to our store, changing into your swimsuit, and going for a nice relaxing hot tub session on our showroom floor.
We can assure you this is one of the best ways to test out a tub and be sure this is the right hot tub for you! We know this concept seems bizarre, but when you think about it, this is how we make a lot of purchases. You wouldn’t buy a car without driving it, so why do the same with one of our tubs?
Hot Tub Test Soaks are available out of hours and by appointment only. The entire garden room is yours for the duration where you can change, relax and test the Tub or Tubs you are most interested in.
